A 220,000 SF extensive renovation of the University of Cincinnati’s basketball arena. This major renovation will completely transform the present-day arena into a state-of-the-art NCAA Division 1 collegiate basketball and special events venue. Built in 1989, the project scope includes the transformation of the seating layout from its current configuration to a modern 360° seating bowl for approximately 11,500 spectators with all of the amenities that today’s fans expect in a first class sports arena. All new vertical circulation, restrooms, and concessions will be constructed and a new premium seating club is also being added at the concourse level. In addition, new fan amenities will be constructed including two new premium seating clubs, a full service kitchen, and much-needed storage. The project is pursuing LEED certification. Megen Construction, in collaboration with joint venture partner Skanska, is providing preconstruction and construction management at risk services. The project is to be completed in the fall of 2018.
